... talk about the odd, unusual and outre, and since the name Hip Pop seems to confuse and certainly not attract anyone... hardly, perhaps a competition for a new name.
I would like to suggest Peel Acres in memory of John Peel who never closed his ears.

How about Music for Cats? Works for me.
(BTW, the album is an experimental electronic side-project by cEvin Key who's known mostly for his work with Skinny Puppy.)

  and I agree with the need for a name change....
  But I must be honest and say that I think that we need a name that describes the type of music, like hip pop, but one that doesn't confuse with HipHOP...
  something like alt-Pop-Rocks, - but that's not a great one by any means.. :-)

    Yes its the difficulty with trying to name any particular type of music when this really the open forum, the music-that-dare-not-speak-its-name the ability to always include something else.
    That's why I thought stepping outside (oooops another forum!) and namimg iy after Peel.
    I can think of no finer person to exemplify what this specific forum is about.
