Anyone else had these? I really liked them. I drove them with a NAD 3020 and a Rega Planar 3 TT.
They were stored for several years and never functioned properly afterward. They were balanced, open and comfortable.

Follow Ups:
I once owned them..... They sounded nice, but the "overload" indicator flickered quite readily, I couldn't play "bass heavy" material through them, beyond "moderate" volumes.
I had a pair back in the 80's, once they were run in, I thought that they sounded very good indeed, only problem was that they had to be run off the amplifier speaker terminals, there was also the ATH 8 which were only slightly more expensive which offered a slightly more open sound.
Regards,
Mike.
When did AT produce them? How long were they in storage? The electret element can lose its charge over time. I wonder whether the connector was similar to or the same as the Stax Normal bias plug.

I bought them in the very early 80s. They were stored from '88 to '97. Once I broke them out again I tried running them for extended periods of time without success. Eventually I gave up and junked them.

My first set of real headphones were Stax electrets, the SR-44. I loved them to death, many nights spent witha bong in one handthe cans on, sitting on the floor in front of the turntable...
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
