These are suppose to be really nice sounding. I still rolling it around as I still have my Modded Fostex T50RP headphones which still sound great.
Follow Ups:
Not the pro model. I have had them since 2018 and they have been great. Not as good as full range Stax estats but they are awfully good.

We don't shush around here!
Life is analog...digital is just samples thereof
They sound alright right out of the box but now into 2 hours things are starting to change for the better and are opening up. I will let them run for another 24 hours and see then.
I got the carrying case and an extra set of Utopia earpads included in the deal, all for under $600!
I will post back up how they sound after some break in time.
nt.
Went from SR-5s to SR-207s. The new cans are Pro Bias but I'm currently using them with my old SRD-7/SB normal bias box.
A Stax amp with Pro Bias and Normal Bias outputs should be here today.
The only dynamic cans I've really used extensively are Sennheisers. I'm thinking about adding a second set of dynamics.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?
but out of my price range due me not being really heavy into headphones. I did just pulled the trigger on some nice Focal Elear headphones. So these with my Fostex should be good for me.
I hear the Stax headphone with the Stax headphone amp is awesome sounding.
I can't afford new Stax either. The only set I bought new was the SR-44 system I bought back in the 1970s.
Your Fostex, seems to me they were all the rage on Head-fi a while back...

But once the mods have been done, they go up another level or two in sound depending on how far on the mods you want to go.
I upgraded the cable, pads, and blocked some of the vents. These made a huge difference. I didn't do the puddy mod.
Since the Fostex are a low Z headphone, you need a nice amp that can push them to sound their best.
The Focal Elear will be my second set of cans and that is it! Not going to buy a bunch of set of cans. These are for late night listening sessions or when learning tunes.
Yeah, but the Elears are real nice too.

in my system. I got a really good price on them too!
