I think that all Accuphase CD players used that same Sony transport. The difference was in the DAC/analog stage between their models.

Thanks for the reply. I hope the Accuphase CD players do not have to be modified to sound their best when used as transports. If they do, then I would rather wait for a used 707ES or 779ES Sony player.
Kenji-san,I know that Accuphase has an outstanding power supply that you might not need to modify, but you should really look into its clock. I am not sure if their units come with precision clock. In any case, it will make an appreciable difference. Who knows, may be they have the precision clock feature already.
Alex-san,Thanks for the wonderful tips.
Happy New Year Alex!Hope the 'babies' aren't keeping you up at night and you've been able to enjoy the festive season?
Just a quick query about your modded SACD1000 after reading your thoughts over on that other digital forum I don't post on anymore (the one with the moaning old......persons).
I've previously posted about how DADs should have been the Hi-Rez format which would have rendered both DVD-A and SACD redundant before they were a glint in their respective inventors' eyes, and the couple I have sound superb albeit originating from Chesky which wouldn't know how to make a poor recording if they were blindfolded and had wax poured into their ears.
However I wasn't sure if the modded SACD1000 would play these as I was under the impression the video circuitry was disabled and thought perhaps the accompanying 96/24 analogue output might be somehow tied up with the video circuitry.
Can you clarify this please and also clarify that the video circuitry is disabled for those like myself who simply want the very best in stereo sound from SACD and CD?
By the way, what did you have for Christmas dinner?
If it was turkey did you buy it frozen or fresh/ready to pluck?
I'd have thought the latter as you do seem to enjoy ruffling a few feathers now and again. :0)
Happy New Year Chris!

There is no audible difference I could hear. < <No disappointment here Alex and in fact it's a massive bonus when it comes to organising my equipment rack; if the video is comparable to my Toshiba SD-900E the Toshiba is up for sale as no doubt the sound will be better on music videos when listened to in my prefered stereo set-up.
Catch you later Alex. I might not be in the neighbourhood but I'm with you in spirit. :0)
Likewise Chris, but still, it would have been much nicer if you were in the neighborhood...:-)I am not sure how the SACD1000 video will compare to the Toshiba. In any case it will not be much worse, if worse at all. But hey, who cares about video anyway...:-)
Stay cool...:-)

Alex
