It probably will not help to figure out your problem - I guess I was just thinking the problem could be in the attenuators as apposed to the main volume control and that running them at max might give you some information. It really can't unless you can take the attenuators out of the loop, as with a bypass switch if your unit has one. I'm not an expert on Anthem, but usually input attenuators give you the ability to reduce the gain of the source so you can use the pre-amps VC effectively and/or if your unit has attenuators on each input to match all of the incoming sources to one level of your choosing, or if you have inputs which are not effected by attenuators you can uses the attenuators on the effected input to match the input with out attenuators. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help.
