RE: Parts Changes to Improve Imaging?

Posted by atkinsonrr on April 18, 2018 at 05:43:10:

Thanks Awe-d-o-file.

I am pretty satisfied with my AC power situation. Am running all power thru a big iso transformer with separate (but same phase) legs out for digital and analog then to sub panel and separate breaker to each component connected via 7 feet of silver clad 10 and 7AWG. Also have "Felix" AC filters in DAC and in Server. The efforts in AC resulted in good improvements-- but not in imaging. But perhaps laid the groundwork for it?

What have you found effective in the way of component isolation? I currently have everything on spikes and wood cutting boards.

Funny you mention the three tweaks. I am currently experimenting with all three! In my system I found subtle improvement with the ground tweak and speaker filters. The battery tweak I have given up on. Am currently putting together the refined versions of the ground effect loops and the speaker filters, hopefully they will give me more dramatic results.

Also want to try a capacitor or capacitor + litz loop in place of only litz loop. It was mentioned by BudP once or twice but he could not specify the exact recipe. Bud mentioned using a cap "under 20pf". Meanwhile a guy in Hong Kong found that the bigger the value cap the better.
