Marantz AH! Tjoeb '99 Cd-38 tubes

Posted by bob24 on December 5, 2024 at 16:38:14:

I've had this CDP for almost 25 years and it's a great sounding player, however I'm thinking of changing out the tubes which I think are 6922s?
I've never changed tubes before so this would be the first time.

What I'd like are recommendations, other than the stock ones, that might have a warmer sound as I'm using a blue circle 1022 solid-state amp.
Perhaps part of the problem is my hearing degradation in the higher frequencies as I am just around the corner from turning 73!
I'm assuming there's also some tube leakage for tubes this old.

Thanks
