ET LFT-8b in Harry Weisfelds system

Posted by BDP24 on June 19, 2017 at 14:33:26:

I recently signed up for the VPI Industries newsletter, and today received my first. In it, retired VPI owner/turntable-pickup arm designer Harry Weisfeld reviews a Grado phono cartridge. But this post concerns the assortment of speakers he listed as being in his music reproduction system, of which there were about a half dozen, all but one being traditional dynamic, cones in a box designs, only one a planar/dipole. And that planar is the Eminent Technology LFT-8b. I'm pretty sure Harry can afford to instead have a pair of Maggie 3.7i's or even 20.7's as his planars, if he so chose. But nope, he instead chose what I consider THE bargain in current loudspeakers, the $2499 ET's. Anyone looking for a planar should really endeavor to hear the speaker. I compared it to the 1.7i, and the difference was dramatic.
