Ethernet cable between modem and router

Posted by Andycsb2006 on April 23, 2025 at 23:53:04:

Hi Everyone,

I stream music via tidal. Living room system (where modem and router is located) is wired and secondary system in bedroom is on wifi.

My question is .... Can ethernet cables affect the sound quality of systems that are on WIFI? I have experimented with different grades of ethernet cables (between modem and router) - on my wired system I have heard sound differences which are quite noticeable. I thought I heard some improvements with my system on wifi too but I could be imagining it. Btw ... I recently got a new modem and router. Now that for sure I wasn't imagining ... it sounded different. Maybe like a cable change.
Would be most grateful for any feedback on your own experiences. Thanks 🙏.
