Stupid Rega Exact Mounting question??

Hey guys, I have a couple of stupid questions for you:
1. When mounting the Exact on my RB700, is it okay to thread the 2 side screws from top to bottom, with the nuts being at the bottom. The little diagram that came with the Exact shows the opposite. The reason I ask is because I used the Rega torque Wrench and couldn't get the wrench under the arm to thread the screws that way (their wans't enough room for the torque wrench to tighten from the bottom)
2. The very front screw peeled the paint a little on the headshell when I torqued down. The paint on the RB700 lifted and peeled off around the screw. Does this normally happen? I used the wrench exactly as described.
3. With the two speaker cables Rega offers (SC42 & Quattro), which is the "higher end" cable?
