Re: good sounding Angel LPs?

I'm guessing for quad they would have had to make more careful pressings.

Look for Angel discs with a blue label. These are often stunning. As already mentioned, the albums with a dowel along the side are famous, but it's hard to find clean copies. I generally avoid the bronze colored labels with the cherubim from the 70s unless that particular recording isn't available on CD.
