Assuming you can locate the vacuum retrofit mechanism, I believe it would be a significant improvement because I am in the camp of those who are convinced that the interface between the record and the platter is extremely important. That said, the next logical question is whether anyone has made a direct comparison between the vacuum and a really good record clamp.
