I am actually not a particularly huge GG fan. Nothing personal against Grant -- just that I *tend* not to appreciate the guitar as an instrument in a jazz session. I find that the sidemen he's got are the best predictor of how much I will like the album.In this case, I think Herbie does an amazing job as a sideman. The music is spiritual/gospel, including:
* Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen
* Go Down Moses
* Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless ChildGarvin Masseaux is credited with the tambourine -- you might know him from "African Beat".
