Which FatBoy did you get , I used to have. JMW 12.7 Classic Metal tonearm . When I got my Unipivot FatBoy 12" , I used the same VTA Base . I just had to adjust the Pivot Spike higher in order to accomodate the 2nd pivot . Maybe what your dealer is selling you is the VTA Base just like the one used in the HW 40 . The VTA Tower is larger in diameter and this tower I thing can only be used w/ the gimbal FatBoy . I don't think it's going to fit w/ a Unipivot FatBoy because of the presence of Azimuth side weights . Here is mine .
