Frankly, I wasn't taken with it. It reminded me of the Denon DP-75 that I had for many years. The sound was OK, but it seemed a bit dead, as if there was a light blanket hanging in front of it.There was detail and clarity, but no depth to it. Soundstage was a bit compressed and smaller than I had expected.
I do understand that the P10 is a different design, but the tonearm is not. I think that not having VTA on the fly is a serious omission to the turntable. The solution for arm height adjustment with aftermarket split shims is a bit ridiculous.
I tried the P9/RB1000 with a number of cartridges, as that would be an obvious thing to do. I went from a Dynavector DV-20XH to the Rega Apheta. That didn't work out, a Shelter 501 made no improvement either.
I traded in the Rega for a Clearaudio Innovation Compact/Universal tonearm and have been happy with that combination ever since.
I think the Rega sound is something that does appeal to a lot of people, I just didn't happen to be one of them.
