hello,I second the suggestion for subwoofer plate amps. They almost always have an adjustable crossover, that will split the low level signal into a low pass (into the plate amp) and through a high-pass (back to your main amplifier). This would easily be the cheapest and most efficient way to do this.
I'd also check out www.apexjr.com as they have nice plate amps for very cheap (under $150 each for a high-power model)
