Home made tube traps...

Purchase the following: 4 foot tall round cardboard concrete former tubes, sheet of egg crate bed foam, the type that you lay on top of your matress and some cloth to cover the tubes that will fit your decore.

At home take some of the bed foam and cover half the tube with it in a verticle fashion when standing on its end. Looking from the end of the tube you will see that half of it is covered with the foam from one end to the other end, like a half moon. You can use a staple gun. Cover the whole tube with the cloth.

Set the tube up on its end. You now have a tube trap. The half of the tube with the foam on it is the absorbant side. The half without the foam is the reflective side. Set it up and turn it to get the desired acoustical effect.

I built 8 at a time. You can also stack them for 8 foot tube traps. Try them in the corners for bass control. Try them on the outside edge of your speakers to focus the image. Have fun!
