It just so happens, that because of their construction, an ASC type bass trap is a fairly dead stand, with very little reasonance or signature of it's own.Placing a monitor speaker on one that is out in the open, say next to or behind a console, will not cause too much loss of the monitors bas output, in other words, it will not bne a black hole for the monitor bass.
It may damp it a bit, which usually tightens up the overall perceived response, not quite as much bloom (or boom as the case may be).
I suggest spiking the trap to the floor, and then the speaker to the trap.
