Re: Is it hard to calibrate db meters on Amp?

Don't get excited I'm not to sure,from what I've read,are the meters identical parts?The screw adjusts the needle to zereo on to the start of the scale,like zero weight on bathroom scales.Do you have a digital multimeter?(you should),you could check the speaker outputs for a dc offset(0 to 800mv is okay)this could upset a meter,also,overdriving an amp could have damaged it.Under the lid there maybe some adjusting pots.If the amp is ok,no hum or anything,you could use your pc to record a .wav test tone at 1khz recorded to 0dB,maximum,and connect the soundcard out to the amp.Better still,burn to disk and put it on repeat.Get your screwdriver and adjust away.
