Question about isolation transformer/balanced?

I have a few isolation transformers, 7 amps 120 volts (marked extreme Isolation transformer. Using a scope looking at hot and neutral on different traces, each trace is about half of the line voltage. When added and one input INVERTED the voltage is the same as line voltage. This looks like a balanced set up where each side carries half the voltage but it is marked isolation. what is more interesting is each the two sided are not exactly half - one is a few volts higher than the other. Can someone tell me what's happening here? Thank you in advance.
Regards
Amir
