Homemade Eichmanns

OK thought I'd share my plans for these connectors. I was bored last week so I went out to the garage and here's what I came up with and man am I impressed. Not with myself, but with the sound! These trounce the Canares I was using, not that Canares are anything special, but for way low cost and not much labor I have some great sounding connectors.

The 1/8" copper tube should fit snugly, but to make sure it stays in place I soldered a little dab on the outside of the tube on both ends to keep it in place.
The nice thing about these is the return wire isn't soldered, it just runs through and contacts the outside of the jack. I polished the copper tube of any oxidation and applied Caig before and after running it through the center.

After cutting the tube, file the ends so they are even and to get any burrs off.

I used 24ga solid silver in teflon. (Venhous type design)

The 5/16" hole needs to be reemed out to fit your female jack. You may have a drill bit that's exactly the right size. I didn't, but it's close.

The connector outside dimensions can be any size you want, but if your component has 3/4" spacing then use 5/8"x5/8""wide. That should leave room for heatshrink.
