I picked up a 115v primary/115v secondary 1500w 1:1 isolation transformer for $40 at a local surplus store. The primary has 2 sets wires in parallel for 115v and an electrostatic shield wire. The secondary has one set of wires for 115v output. I don't think this unit is capable of balanced power because it doesn't have a CT secondary, but I still would like to try isolation from the AC mains in my audio sytem for my power amps. What wiring stategy can I use for isolation? Would the Risch instructions for isolated power apply with the transformer I have?
