Once side of my listening room is a wall of closets which is acoustically quite different from the opposite wall - an exterior wall of 2x4's and sheetrock and filled with insulation. In an effort to create and acoutically more uniform wall, I'm considering covering the closet doors with sheetrock. I've seen plastic beading for sheetrock that has a "U" shape and will protect the edges of sheetrock so that's not an issue.Has anyone tried doing this? Any tips? I'm concerned about the ability of the doors and door hinges to carry the weight of the sheetrock. What type of door will provide the best solution - hollow or solid doors?
