Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm doing some modifications to a nice tube preamp I've owned for
several years. There are many 1/2-watt Roederstein resistors in it,
along with various 2W and 5W metal-oxide ones. I want to put in
better-sounding ones. I'm looking for transparency -- some I've tried
blur detail; and I'm looking for a neutral tonal balance -- some I've
tried thin the sound, or get pinched or just weird-sounding.I'd like to hear opinions from the folks here in the tweaker's asylum:
what's on your personal Good Resistors list?
