Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I'm planning on opening up one of my walls (outside wall) to build a flush entertainment cabinet. It would be about 4' wide, 8' tall, and about 2.5' deep.
I would put pre-amp (audible illusions m3a), amp (Bel Canto eVo 2) on bottom shelves, 40" Sony Vega tube tv in middle, with Sony SCD-1 and turntable on 2nd shelf above TV. Any other video related gear would be on a shelve directly above the TV.
Are there tweaks I could do to shield the TV from my audio components? Would sheet metal, that has a grounded sheild wire connected to it, and attached to the bottom of the shelf above the TV, and directly under the TV be effective?
Would I have any problems with sound/bass entering this space in the wall? I will be getting a pair of GMA Continuum 3's in 2 weeks, and this summer plan to buy a pair of Vandersteen subs. At this time, i'm only interested in 2 channel sound.
I am looking for any help/advice....Thanks... Richard
