and I can't get the hum to go away with any grounding configuration. The two channels have equal levels of hum. It increases/decreases very slightly with different grounding configurations, but is always there. Did I fry something in the preamp's phono stage? What's strange is that the hum appears when any sort of IC (including shielded IC's) is plugged into the phono stage input jacks; there is no hum when no IC is in the jacks. (And no other inputs on the preamp have the same hum, thank goodness.) (Sorry for cross-posting, but I think this may be the best forum for this question.) Don't ask why/how I came to ground both channels of the IC; a late-night, too tired stupidity while attempting to solve another problem. Thanks for your thoughts.
