Well, like I said it's tough to judge without seeing the circuit. They obviously were put there for a purpose. It could be that the opamp would saturate with that much DC on the input under some conditions. I don't know what the DC level is or the gain of the circuit or the power supply voltages or ...... :-)But from your original post it sounds like you have already bypassed the capacitors and it works OK so you shouldn't have a problem with damaging the opamps. I was just concerned that the circuit wouldn't function properly or would cause problems downstream.
