The never dying unbalanced to balanced problem...

Hello all, I'm new to the asylum. First let me say that this place has a vast amout of information. I have been on this site now for almost 6

hours just reading and learning. No one could ever put a value on all the information here.

Now onto my situation, it involves the much talked about Unbalanced signal to a balanced signal. I think I read almost every post about it on the

site. I have a device (MP3 Player) that has unbalanced RCA plugs. I would like to convert those plugs to either XLR or 1/4 TRS balanced. I have

tried the cable solution, wasn't satisfied with the results. I have looked at dozens of different black boxes and DI-Boxes. Now I would like to

know, being that I have access to the plugs themselves, is there a way to unsolder them and solder on either the XLR or the TRS? I'm no

electronics person so if anyone knows of away please put it in easy terms :) Also I believe the MP3 Player does have some sort of amplification

on the circuit board, I would like to take that off and make it Line Level. Again if someone can tell me what I need to look for on the board to

either bypass or disconnect would be great. If the removal is not possible with the small amount of amplification be a problem going in to a

mixer, EQ then amp? I'm actually taking the whole MP3 deivice and putting it into a rack mount enclosure. I have found two items that may work

with what I need but not sure about them. If anyone could give me some input if they would work and are worth to try, the links are at the

bottom. Well I hope I gave enough info to get some help. If not let me know.

Thanks To All In Advance
