I agree with mta.However, the real "sound" of an amp comes from its low level circuit card. The PA-3 circuit card from Musical Concepts, in my experience, is the best thing around. It has warmth, detail, and transient excitement.
I've done all the mods to Haflers but after getting a Musical Concept modified amp I will do no more mods myself -- except for the simple stuff like input and output wiring.
