Some good points.
VHS is bulky.There are people i suppose who do not mind this,Much like the Laserdisk collectors.The seek times would be a problem(good point).I guess Nakamichi could find a good index system.
Yes RGM,It does seem that everything is getting smaller when it comes to recording of audio.I do like mp3 for its amazing portability,But as for sound quality i think uncompressed is still hard to beat.
If the manufacturere could make the width of the machine not bulky i think this would help.I am still amazed at the frequency rsponse of reel 2 reel compared to dijital,There are 20hz more if i can remember.
The tapes do wear out but with my recordings it is very little as the picture seems to be the main culprit and not so much the sound.
I had the idea of getting hold of a reel machine and adapting vhs tape to a spool to see how it responds.
