The COG and NPO formulations of ceramic caps are decent dielectrcs, but are only available in smaller values, since they do not have the dielectric multiplier of several thousand like the really poor ceramic materials such a Z5U, X7R, etc.WHile I would not go out of my way to use them as coupling caps, there use as a feedback stablization cap, an RF filter cap in shunt mode, etc. is OK.
The COG/NPO ceramic can actually perform better than most mica caps, especially since the quality of the mica caps has deteriorated so much over the years.
