Buy a replacement spike and tap the hole

You'll likely have to buy a full set of spikes, and you should try to find some with a slightly larger thread diameter. Next you will need to tap the whole, which you would need a tap and die kit to do. Tap and die kits can be expensive, though, so you'll want to borrow one if possible. There is a slight possibility that a store like Sears may sell individual taps.

A quicker, easier, but dirtier solution would be to get a replacement spike with the same size threads and use it to rebuild the damaged threads with epoxy. B&W may or may not be able to help you get a replacement spike, but is a good place to start. You'll want to use the best epoxy you can find, which means slow curing (two hours or more). JBWeld is the best epoxy I've used and is widely available. Simply mix the epoxy, use a Q-tip or something to coat the damaged threads with the epoxy, grease the threads on the new spike with Vaseline, and carefully 'thread' it into the damaged hole. Do make an effort to clean the damaged spikes as best you can before applying the epoxy.

Best of luck,
Pete
