An idea offered by a respondant to my post a few inches down from here, is to make a sandwich construction with EAR (whatever that is, but suggested by Brian Walsh - I guess it's a well-known US product) or Sorbothane (as used by AudioQuest in Big Feet, etc), or rubber as an absorber between the two blocks. As Penguin says, the indibidual blocks should already be of lamintate construction to avoid the warp factor!
