If it's really a power chip, they typically blow in pairs, both polarities of the output stage...And there's typically a reason they failed..Sometimes it's the parts around it..sometimes it just gave up the ghost.If it's a fet chip, it will additionally be static sensitive.
I would tend to agree with Donburi; it's not your typical repair job for someone who's not worked under the hood before..It could end up gettin expensive...Do not have your speakers connected should you repair it. Use a dummy resistor, one you have no love for.
The schematic should show what part it is, if only by number..
Troubleshootin by blowin more parts up may not be the way to go though..
