Hi,
I have done both of the mods according to Bobwire's suggestions. I like the results of both, but for different things. My cd63 (with three external power transformers) is extremely clean and dynamic and has a large sound stage. The 709 is very good in resolution, but somewhat compressed in sound stage and not as dynamic. I am thinking of taking the dac output from 709 and feed it to the output stage (with upgraded opamps) in cd63. Do you think I need to make any adjustment in the circuit? In addition to the four wires, do I need to connect the ground of both machines?
Another question, what is the trans-switch in 709 (PT01)? Is that a power transformer? How about the function of the varistor? Is it a regulator?
