Steve,I have done this to my cdp. It seems to work very well, and when
I tap on top of the metal chassis, there isn't that metallic hollow
sound, nor ringing in the metal. I think I used Dynamat Extreme that I bought at Circuit City or Best Buy. I never tried other dampening materials. The Dynamat is quite dense and will add weight to the
case (which isn't a bad thing in cdp's).-Vinnie
