Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |
|
I used to look at "top of the component" tweaks like pucks and pepples with a very sceptical eye- no longer. I made a flat cloth bag about 17" by 11" for the cd player and the pre. Filled them half full with silica sand, evenly dispersed the sand in the bags and put them on the components, expecting a minor change in sound,if any. To my amazement the improvements were the equivilant of a major component upgrade! Much more focus of individual instruments and voices. I heard very quiet stuff in mixes that I hadn't heard before. Now I have to listen to all my collection over again. You gotta try this!
