Are you sure about the values in your xo.?
The caps should all be NP.
If bipolar are used they are normally back to back in pairs.(not good)
If they are bp is the bass powered?
Do a full diagram of the wiring arrangement and send us your diagram.(or photo)
Cap quality does affect the sound .
Be sure you dont change values of components in the xo.
Visit wilmslowaudio.co.uk for replacement caps.Scr are very good and competative.Musicaps if you can afford them in the tweeter helps.
No mention of the inductors in your list.I would have expected at least three.Are these iron or air cored?Some claim a major differance.
For me iron is better.(they are cheaper and smaller).R value of the inductors(for the bass/mid) also changes the available sound level of each driver (and xo performance in series/parallel)
Doubt changing the resistors will help unless they are low wattage type and I would doubt this with Kef.
If you can hold of a copy get Advanced speaker Design from RS or Maplin which gives a detailed (basic)understanding of how a speaker works.
