I have modded the SA8260 quite substantially. But one thing I have not done is the SACD/CD Transport itself.
It is so easy to totally take out the whole transport from the chasis. Underneath the transport, a very complicated board lies there where the Sony DSD chips and decorder sit. It is like a CD ROM itself.
Also there are a whole bunch of little SMD capacitors lying there. They are silver and half painted in black. Because of the small size, replacing them will be extremely difficult and risky.
Will it be beneficial to replace them and take the risk ? How good are these type of caps ?
