In Reply to: Is there a height limit to raising speaker cables off floor???? posted by DNA125 on March 5, 2003 at 13:01:11:
E=MC2 (square of MC)E = Exact height off floor in millimeters
M = Money spent on that channel's interconnect ($USD)
C = Circumfrence of interconnect (inches)So, if the interconnect cost $1000, and its circumfrence is 2" (a bargain!), then the interconnect should be precisely 4 million millimeters (or 4,000 meters) off of the floor. As you can see, this interconnect would have to be mounted on fairly high towers above the roof line of the typical home. This will increase the length of interconnect needed, which, when plugged back into the formula, requires ever taller towers. Thus, finding the perfect height for interconnects is like accomplishing perfection in everything else audio - incredibly expensive, and totally impossible.
