to return to a less ironic state:I have tried the Goertz-similar CFAC foil coils, and found them superb. Very audibly superior to the best cored coils i had at that time (value around 1 mH). *Slight* questions remained in transient impact, IMO a question of tensioning vs. vibration, which a flat coil is more prone to. Tensioning too much is not a solution either, because it stresses the conductor, specially a very thin conductor.
The main quality of the solutions you consider, is their thin effective diameter. What i heard from the foil coil was superb coherency and harmonic integration. Based on Hawksford it can be expected that thicker wires start to sound discontinous, with an *excess* bass aspect, which paradoxically many seem to prefer.
In case of Tritec i would only consider the 7x0.5 mm ones, not the thicker diameter ones. I feel that the fopil coils probably sound warmer, and i would go for a Jensen foil coil.
