Anyone change the Digital Out jacks to BNCs?

I'm considering changing the digital out jacks from the factory RCAs to panel mount BNCs in my quest for true 75 ohm performance. Will this give me what I want or will I still have the same problem inside the equipment? (I'm assuming they don't use 75 ohm coax for internal wiring)It isn't worth the trouble if the impedence now changes a half inch farther down the wiring chain.
