We've done rentals for a while as we bop around the Eastern states. Seventh place since 94 from PA to GA, The procedure for setting up the system has become refined. Most of the time I am able to set up a dedicated line and breaker, but not always. Last place, the circuit box manufacturer had been out of business for thirty years, bitch finding a 30-amp breaker.Determine what's on the circuit. A multi-meter is best but a lamp with a 100-watt bulb will work. Plug either into the system's wall outlet. Turn things off and on, at the plug where required. When the light dims, the item is on that circuit and has created a surge. Remove the item to another circuit. If you can't, use ferrite clamps on that item's power cord: partsexpress.com, Radio Shack, etc. Also check for ground fault on each outlet of the power circuit via MM or that little thingy they sell at home depot to check your outlets. Upgrade the receptacle based on a spare change budget at the super hardware store, it's hard to tell the point of overkill without other test equipment. Buy refreashments with saved coin. A power conditioner within your budget may be in your future. Leave that light plugged in while your stuff is unplugged/turned off.
Watch.
Every time the bulb flickers, it's a surge. Not only bad for your listening pleasure but not healthy for the electronics either.
Sorry.
Accepting the filtering of a power conditioner could be preferable.. Just watch the lightWhen you really kick back to do some serious tunes, unplug/turnoff what you can. No, not the fridge, you put a ferrite clamp on that, (the beer needs to be cold). Apartment fluorescent lighting is the worst. I turn off my furnace/AC when the tunes are right, way to much power surge.
Do the RF test with the AM radio. Hey, more research.
