One can drive him/herself crazy trying/removing various cones, feet, shelves in and out, trying to decide which combo is the best. Been there, done that, still doing it!Polycrystal cones are not bad cones at all. I have DH cones, polycrystal, BDR 3 and 4, Michael Green brass cones, some German Sound Selection cones, etc, etc. By far the best is Symposium rollerblocks (with Tungsten carbide) for transport/DAC. Cones seem to do better under equipment without moving parts.
If you follow the madness, you will end up like me under my CDP: CDP-->Rollerblock with Tungsten ball-->Empty Bright Star big rock upside down-->DIY air bladder-->Bright Star Little Rock with sand-->Cones-->DIY Ikea LACK table-->combo BDR cones/aluminum cones-->LACK shelf-->Sound Selection Cones.
