Hi E;You're right, it's odd that the use of RF suppression techniques is so poorly known in the audio field. Even odder is that some people don't even accept that it's a useful technique!
One place that ferrite has been a godsend over here is on my TV - the picture improved markedly with ferrite beads on the mains cord, the cable TV in, the audio in, and the S-video cable. I tested each position separately and it cut chroma noise markedly!
Anyway, thanks for the info on the really big values. I'm using 2uF of "X" caps on the isofilter for my DVD player....maybe I should see about building a bigger better filter for my amp, adding isolation transformers.
