One nice surprise was Philips TDA2616 powered with two 12V batteries (this is a small 12+12W stereo TV chip). No bypass caps!
Also check SGS-Thomson TDA729* series. And the antique TDA2030.BTL has one purpose - double output voltage when power supply voltage is limited, as in 12V car systems. When you can choose supply voltage, go with SE.
