i like and have been using the creative infra cdrom drive as transport to a sonic frontiers assemblage dac for some time now. the sound from the creative transport was far superior to the one from my marantz cd 5000 which quiet suprised me i have done a fair but of tweaking to the creative and made it top loadingi came across the zero dac 2000 project by a galavotti @ http://www.geocities.com/agalavotti/dac.htm
and it looks so beatifly simple why use the spdif conection from the creative transport run a digital line to the crystal reciever then to the td 1543's when i can just run the i2s bus from the transport to the td1543's seem too good to be true
is there any chance of this iam not sure who is familiar with the creative but i can answer a few q's on it
i was just thinking of identifying the dacs on the cd rom drive, find the data stream/i2s bus and runt it through the zero 2000dac
what are ur thoughts on this ?
thank u very much - keegan
