Hey people,I've been thinking of how difficult it'd really be to build a dac and perhaps and adc also, both of very high quality? It should be capable of 24bit resolution and sample rates of 44.1k, 48k at least, more (upwards) wouldn't hurt either. I have a good knowledge of analog electronics and I do understand some digital principles and so on.
The Burr-Brown PCM1704 is a dac I've been checking out, but I'm slightly lost with the adc chip.
What are the bottlenecks of this? To me it seems that the digital stage should be achievable - clocking is one thing to watch out, as well PCB layout. Is the analog stage where the real battle begins?
Any thoughts would be really nice.
Yours,
Jaakko
