It's a question of degree

Mellson,

I remember when I almost refused to believe that interconnects affected the sound of a system and those spending $300 for speaker cables were chumps. Later, I laughed before I tried setting my turntable, preamp, and power amp on blocks of marble- my opaque green rocks! I disdained the possiblity that NOS tubes could be THAT much better, until buying some Amperex 12AX7s, then tube dampers, and so on.

Changes are a question of degree, some will be important with small effort, some very tiny at great cost. The tiny ones are where science meets perception, and perception meets faith in the idea.

There is no use in trying to talk anyone out of believing they hear a change from something small or unfamiliar- they do. If everyone refused to look into what makes changes no matter how arcane and insignificant they seem, nothing subtle could ever happen in a very subtle world.

Now, I'll just get down off this soapbox. Say, it has a strong second order harmonic..

Cheers,

Bambi B
