Elso,Have you tried/compared the 74AC04 with the HCU series. For a few cents i took your recommendation and swaped the AC04 out and replaced it with the VHC04. I would concur that it was a big/nice improvement just as you commented, except that i found the sound stage more forward. Midbass improved and overall sound took on a richer tone. This was in a Genesis lens, first chip from the input(the lens has about 15+ 74hcuXXX chips altogether). Thanks for the recommendation. For all following this post, for a few cents this is one upgrade which make a HUGE difference and worth experementing.
But to note that extreme care must be taken to remove the IC's or risk damaging the PCB traces.
